David T. Jaques, age 80 of Paris, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 24, 2023. He was born in Grand Rapids on April 29, 1942, the son of Roy and Rachel "Freda" (Scott) Jaques. David married Mary Taylor on April 4, 1964, at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church in Reed City, where they were members. Together Dave and Mary made their home in Evart, Reed City, and Fremont areas before settling in Paris. Davids work life began with L.E. Meyers Company as an apprentice lineman, going to O & A Electric Cooperative in 1964 as a journeyman. Over the course of his years there he went to foreman, Area Supervisor, and retiring in 2000 as Superintendent of Operations. Answering the call for help from a dear friend, he returned to work for Midwest Electric Cooperative, retiring in 2007. Dave enjoyed fishing, golfing, and hunting; but his true joy was spending time with his family. Dave is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Jaques of Paris; three children, Angela Cornell of Paris, Thomas (Lori) Jaques of Jefferson, Ohio, and John Paul (Jos) Santiago of Big Rapids; five grandchildren, Shannon, Matthew, Megan, Gabriel, and Taylor; four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Aubrey, Hadleigh, and Emily; five siblings, twin sister Martha Lake of Billings, Montana, Joan Olson of Hersey, Carolyn (Jim) Carver of Hawkins, Harley (Deb) Jaques of Gaylord, and Gary (Marty) Jaques of Reed City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bill Jaques. Mass of the Resurrection will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church in Reed City with Father Loc Trinh officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to Mass on Wednesday at Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Davids name to Reed City Area Food Pantry, 813 S.
