Danny J. "Boone" Young, age 71 a lifelong resident of Remus, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 20, 1949 in Lakeview, the son of Lewis and Anetta (Van Orman) Young, and baptized at the Forest Hill Church of God. Danny loved sports; he played little league baseball, horseshoes, yard darts, and ran track in high school. He graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1976. On November 20, 2000, he married Nanette Alvarado in Cebu, Philippines. She joined him in Remus in 2003, where they raised their children. Danny farmed all his life, keeping a vegetable garden, owning his own dairy farm, and being an active member of the Future Farmers of America Foundation. Danny was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his loving wife, Nanette; his sons, Mark (Nathaniel) Alvarado of Los Angeles, and Lewis Young of Remus; his sister, Judy Sampson of Barryton; his nieces, Karrilynn (Steve) Mollett, Shellie (Chip) Halfmann, and Jamie (Ray) Schumacher; great nieces and nephews, Jacob, Grant, Gabe, Ashley, Katya, Connor, Lea, and Myka; ten great-great nieces and nephews; and many cousins and extended family. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Terry Young. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at World Outreach Center, 7950 W Airline Road, Weidman, MI with Pastor Bobbie Roe officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at the Church. Danny will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Weidman.
