Danny Joe Wilmot, age 68 of Weidman, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 2, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant to Joseph and Doris (Sheldon) Wilmot. Danny, along with his class, was the first to graduate from Chippewa Hills High School in 1968. Danny served in the United States Army from 1970 1972 and was honorably discharged. He married Betty Myers on May 17, 1984. He retired from the Mount Pleasant Regional Center in 2002. Danny enjoyed tinkering in the garage, feeding the birds, playing cards and reading with the grandchildren and he never missed the nightly news or Jeopardy. Danny is survived by his wife, Betty; three children, Amy (John) Sims of Mt. Pleasant, Jason (Virginia) Wilmot of Weidman and Brian Wilmot of Maryland; grandchildren, Hannah (Devin Bryant) Sims and Maci Jo and Noah Wilmot; sisters, Kerry Wilmot of Mt. Pleasant and Linda (Jeff) Helmer of Lake; mother-in-law, Geraldine Myers of Weidman. He will also be deeply missed by his extended family and numerous friends. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Doris Wilmot and son, Joe Wilmot. Funeral services for Danny will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Weidman. His family will greet friends on Sunday, July 28th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
