Daniel Michael McShane, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his home in Big Rapids. He was born on February 20, 1953 in Grosse Pointe, MI to Michael and MaryJane (Pranger) McShane. During delivery MaryJane passed away which led to Daniel being adopted by his grandparents Louis C. and Myrtle I. (Vollbach) Pranger. He was raised in St. Clair Shores until his early 40's when he made his home in Big Rapids. Daniel enjoyed several jobs in the area but most recently looked forward to time spent at MOARC. He was athletic and loved bowling, playing golf and basketball. Daniel was learning to play horseshoes and was always eager to go out to eat. Anyone that spent any time with Dan also knew he liked to clean things. Daniel touched the hearts of many and was the beloved nephew of Helen and the late Louis H. Pranger and their family, and the late Jerry Pranger and his family. He will be sadly missed by his caregivers Donna Switzer and her family; caregiver Nicole and his roommates' at the Duplex where he resided the last 10 years. A time of remembrance will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with a time of sharing at Noon. Daniel will be instate at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, May 4th at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church (21120 Benjamin St.) St. Clair Shores with Mass starting at Noon on Monday. Memorial donations in Dan's name can be made to God's Helping Hands in Remus.
