Daniel A. St. John age 41 of Lake, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at his home. He was born January 22, 1968 in Mt. Pleasant to Garold and Sandra (Hess) St. John. Daniel graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1987. As a child he started his career as a drywaller with his dad at St. John Drywall until his dad retired and his brother Mark took over the business. For a short time Daniel worked with his brother and most recently he was employed by J. Clark Drywall in Weidman until his health declined. Daniel had a passion for hunting, liked to fish and was an all around outdoorsman. When he wasn't hunting he enjoyed building and constructing things. Daniel is survived by two children who will miss their hunting buddy and all the wisdom he shared with them: Lyle D. and Carey Jo St. John of Lake, His beloved parents: Gary and Sandy St. John of Lake, Four brothers and sisters: Deana (Richard) Gross of Shepherd, Michael (Louise) St. John of Lake, Nancy Breidenstein of Alma, Mark (Andrea) St. John of Lake, His grandmother Ida (Donald) Zill of Lake, step-son; Joshua "J.J." Loomis of Weidman, his dear friends Jeff (Teresa) Clark of Weidman, his dog Baby who was always by his side and several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews who will remember the fun they had with Daniel. Daniel is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather; Garold St. John and maternal grandparents; Orville and Elnora Bates. For those of you that know Daniel you know how casual and laid back he was therefore a casual funeral service will take place for Daniel at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with the Reverend Nancy Fulton officiating. Interment will follow at North Brinton Cemetery in Lake. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Daniel's memory may be given to Morey Cancer Center or Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant.
