Daniel James Hyde, 81, of Stanwood, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

He was born on March 3, 1944, in Jackson, the son of Eugene "Doc" and Marjorie Hyde. After high school, Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a radioman during the Vietnam War, traveling the world and gaining valuable life experiences that shaped him for years to come.

On November 15, 1973, he married Sue Ann Plotts, and together they shared a life of adventure and travel before planting roots in Stanwood. There, Daniel enjoyed his many hobbies, including woodworking, music, computers, and later in life, politics. He had a passion for fishing and was always eager to take others along, finding joy in their success more than his own.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years: Sue Ann Hyde; Children: Betsy Miller and Matthew Hyde; Grandchildren: Sarah, Rachel, Seth, Emily, Morgan, and Jude; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Benjamin, and his siblings, John and Marjorie "Princess".
