Daniel C. Fuller Sr., age 75 of Stanwood, died peacefully Tuesday, January 4, 2022. He was born January 14, 1946 in Big Rapids, the son of Raymond and Margaret (Ryan) Fuller. Dan was born and raised on a farm which began his passion for horses. He continued to farm throughout his whole life as well as becoming a farrier and horse trainer. Dan enjoyed boarding, showing, and breeding horses. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary St. Paul Catholic Community, where he also attended school from kindergarten through eighth grade. He was a 1964 graduate from Big Rapids High School. Dan started his career path as a barber and opened Dans Barber Shop. He volunteered with his horse on the Mecosta County Sheriffs Posse and decided to continue with Mecosta County as a Corrections Officer. Dan then began employment with Parks Sawmill in Paris until it closed and then went to Tooley Sawmill in White Cloud until he retired in 2008. Dan was an avid outdoorsman; hunting turkey and deer. He truly enjoyed people. Dan looked forward to visiting and telling stories with friends and family. He is survived by his two children, Dan (Kara) Fuller Jr. of Clarkston and Renee (Scott) Lindsey of White Cloud; two siblings, Delores (Larry) Ragnone and Bill Fuller; three grandchildren, Jorja and Danica Fuller and Samantha Lindsey; many nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, son Kevin Fuller, and sister Mary Anne Merrick. Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation an hour prior. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 6th at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help pay for funeral expenses.
