Cynda S. Sova, age 61 of Big Rapids, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 with her family by her side. She was born January 8, 1950 in Big Rapids, the daughter of Lloyd and Esther (Ross) Cooley. Cynda married Roger Sova August 17, 1968 in Big Rapids, where they raised their family. She was a member of the Big Rapids Free Methodist Church. Throughout Cynda's career she worked for Dar-V-Don, Tubbs and Tumble, Pete's Cleaners and Wal-Mart. Cynda loved caring for children; she owned the Cozy Corner Day Care and was a foster parent for 17 children. Cynda was a talented designer and was especially good at flower arranging. She really enjoyed the holidays and the baking, decorating and giving that went along with them; her favorite was Christmas. Cynda loved shopping, farm animals and planting flowers. She took great pleasure in listening to music; whether it was Elvis or her own children. Her calling in life was to help and take care of other people. She loved her family and grandchildren, she will be greatly missed. Cynda is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Roger Sova of Big Rapids; 5 children, Rodger (Tina) Sova of Big Rapids, Wade Sova of Big Rapids, April (Sid) Oates of Mecosta, Shane (Megan) Sova of Paris and Amy (Brad) Cook of Big Rapids; 13 grandchildren; a brother Ron (Gloria) Cooley of Big Rapids; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents and 3 brothers. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 26th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Ted Johnson officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25th at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Pine Plains Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Cynda's name may be given to her family.
