Crystal M. Stormes, 47, of Big Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. She was born on October 25, 1976, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Michael Stormes and Christine Papiersky. Crystal attended and graduated from Michigan Center Public Schools and lived in the Jackson area for many years before moving to Big Rapids Michigan. Crystal was a dedicated caregiver by profession and a devoted mother to her children, whom she raised with love and care. Her family was her world, and she cherished spending time with the people she loved. Crystal had a deep passion for music, particularly influenced by her favorite artist, Tupac. She also had a great love for her pets, enjoyed being outdoors and a passion for writing poetry. Crystal was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, whose presence will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Cheyla Stormes-Williams, Cyson Stormes, and Chalise Marie Houser; her parents, Christine (James) Armstrong and Michael Stormes; her sister, Coral Love; her nephews, Corliss Love and Cordae Mitchell. She also leaves behind many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home, Big Rapids.
