Craig D. Johansen, age 60 of Rodney, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at his home. He was born June 15, 1954 in Big Rapids, the son of Herman "Mike" and Dorothy (Baumunk) Johansen. A lifelong resident of the Rodney area, Craig graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1973. He had been employed as a service technician at Sears for over 20 years. Craig was a member of the AmVets Post 1941 in Big Rapids. He enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, hunting and spending time with friends and family around the bonfire. Craig is survived by his two children, Jason Johansen and Renea (William) Shively all of Rodney; eight grandchildren, Austin Trask, Natalie Johansen, Alyssa Johansen, Charli Lynn Johansen, Brant Shively, Blake Shively, Brayden Shively, Bryce Shively; a brother Keith (Darlene) Johansen of Mecosta and several nieces and nephews. Craig was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial gathering will take place 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Jason's home, 11368 14 Mile Road, Rodney, MI.
