Connie Mae (Thomas) Hurst, 76, of Big Rapids, MI, passed away peacefully in her sleep during the early hours of Saturday, December 14, 2024. Connie was born on June 16, 1948 to Fred and Luella (Cook)Thomas. To say that Connie was a wonderful and amazing person would be an understatement. To know her was to love her. She was a nurturer, filled with kindness, and always taking care of everyone. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings were the joy of her heart and the light of her life. Connies family and friends were her most valuable asset, she cherished each one of them. Connies favorite hobby was shopping, but she rarely kept anything she bought for herself. One of her favorite gifts to give were two dollar bills. Food was another way she shared her love and talent. Connie enjoyed reminiscing about time spent in Germany where Duane served in the Army and sharing memories of days gone by. Her presence in our lives will be greatly missed. She was ever present even when not with us, always calling to check in. As we selfishly long to have her here with us, we rejoice in knowing that she is now with her Savior. Connie leaves behind her loving husband, Duane, of fifty-six years, a daughter, Tammy (Bill) Klubeck and a son, Paul (Brandy) Hurst. Also eight grandchildren; Troy (Chloe Plescher), Terry, Kelly, Matt, and Laura Klubeck, Allina (Kyle) Perfitt, Alissa (Franklin Wilkes) and Joshua (Cecilia Lewis) Hurst. Also five great- grandchildren; Paisley, Beau and Everleigh Perfitt and Easton and Keegan Wilkes as well as four siblings, Ken (Birnie) Thomas, Kathy (Gary) Polsinelli, LouAnn (Doug) Gregory, and Debbie (Don) Merriss. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial Services will be conducted on Friday, December 27, 2024, 1:00 P.M. at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home, Big Rapids.
