Conda Fay Garner (Hampel), 71 of Big Rapids, MI passed away peacefully on November 1, 2021 at her home with her family by her side, after a short battle with cancer. Conda was born on January 14, 1950 at 4:44 a.m. (a time she has shared for years) in Big Rapids to Edward and Sarah (Holt) Hampel.
Conda graduated from Barryton High School in 1967. On December 28, 1968, Conda married the love of her life, Howard "Jerry" Garner. For the first three years of their marriage, they lived in Colorado Springs where they welcomed their first son, Jerry Garner. In 1972 they moved back to Big Rapids where they had their son Chad Garner and have resided since. Conda had a very successful 37-year career as the Owner/Broker of Century 21 Forward Realty in Big Rapids and Reed City where she sold many homes all around the area.
Conda always enjoyed her life and loved to make other people laugh. In her earlier days she loved to bowl, cross country ski and go camping. She always enjoyed her time with her family having campfires, playing cards and spending time together.
Conda is survived by her spouse of nearly 53 years, Howard Garner, her two sons Jerry (Julie) Garner of Reed City and Chad (Kelly) Garner of Jefferson, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren Alexandra Baughan, Natalie Baughan, and Elise Garner and Isabelle Garner, Gabriel Garner, and Ellery Garner and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She also leaves behind her favorite boy, her Golden Retriever, "Marley".
Conda is also survived by her sister Patricia Little of Rodney, brothers-in-law: Jack (Lynn) Garner of Zephyrhills, FL, Joe (Kathy) Garner of Big Rapids and sister-in-law Betty Garner of Glendale, CA.
Conda was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Sarah Hampel, brother Ron Hampel, sister Sharon Evelhoch, and brothers-in-law Ron Little and Chuck Evelhoch.
Things will never be the same without her but we will always remember her great smile and laugh. Anytime you see 4:44, know she is thinking of you. "Remember me with smiles and laughter, because that is how I will remember all of you. If you can only remember me with tears, then dont remember me at all."
