Obituary

Clyde J. Clark went home to be with his Lord on January 31, 2009, at his home in Sears, at the age of 76. He was born May 8, 1932 in Orient Twp., to Alpha and Elsie (McNeilly) Clark Sr. Clyde graduated from the Barryton Agricultural High School in 1950 and briefly attended MSU. On January 22, 1960 he married the late Coralie Bartholomew in Sears and they made their home in Orient Twp. where they farmed and raised their family together. Clyde was a registered Holstein breeder for over 50 years and a lifetime member of the National Holstein Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Clyde was a member and supporter of the FFA and Michigan 4H. He had a gift for working in the orchard and took pride in his garden. Clyde was a faithful member of the Church of God attending the Barryton and Sears congregations where he was a former Sunday school teacher. Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 10 years Joanie (Wilson), whom he married on August 1, 1998 in Barryton, (3) three sons; Alan (Darla) Clark of Sears, Scott (Ronda) Clark of Onondaga, MI, Brian (Lynette) Clark of Sears, one daughter Diane Clark of Sears, nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who he enjoyed spending time with, two brothers; Alpha Clark Jr. of McBain and Larry (Muriel) Clark of Sears, mother-in-law Gertrude Bartholomew and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Coralie in 1992 and an infant brother. The family will greet friends at the Sears Church of God (5955 40th Ave. & US 10) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009 and two hours prior to the funeral service on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3rd at the church with Pastor Richard Latham officiating. Spring interment will be at East Fork Cemetery in Barryton. Memorial donations in Clyde's name may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements entrusted to the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
