Obituary

Clayton H. Beutler, an honorable and well loved man, died on the morning of November 5, 2007, at the age of 92. He was born on December 5, 1914, to Fred and Lura Beutler of rural Weidman, MI. His siblings were Fay, Dorothea and Esther. He was a World War II combat veteran, having served four years in the United States Army. He worked for Pure and Unocal Oil Companies for more than 40 years. He operated Beutler's Grocery with his wife, Fern. He was a member of the Weidman United Methodist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the O.E.S., the V.F.W. and the Lion's Club. In 1946 he married Fern St. John. They had three children and made their home in Coldwater Township. After retirement, they also had a home in Zephyrhills, Florida. Mr. Beutler was preceded in death by his wife Fern, his brother Fay, his sister Esther and his parents. He is survived by his children; Clif and wife Maxine, Fred and Mary, his grandchildren; Milissa, Christina, Alexis, Samantha, and Joe, his great-grandchildren; Taylor, Vanessa, Gavin, Quinn and Jacob, his sister; Dorothea, three nieces and two nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Beutler will be held at the Weidman United Methodist Church on Friday, November 9th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the North Brinton Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton on Thursday, Nov. 8th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. conducted by the James A. Cliff Lodge #424 of Weidman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Weidman United Methodist Church.
