Cheryl M. Roote, age 72, died Sunday, September 11, 2022 at her home in Barryton surrounded by her family. She was born October 20, 1949 in Garden City, Michigan, the daughter of Julius and Maxine (Fisher) Chapo. Cheryl graduated from Wayne High school in 1969. She went to beauty school and opened a salon in Barryton called Scissors. Cheryl continued to cut hair for clients until early 2022. She enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Cheryl loved to spend her time doing art and craft, and jigsaw puzzles. One of her favorite places to go with friends and family was A&W. Cheryl was a dedicated worker and could outwork anyone. She will be missed by all who loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, James "Jim" Roote of Barryton; daughter, Candace "Candy" Vitale; grandsons, Rusty, Nathaniel, and Dre Nunley. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents.
