Charlotte A. Sanger, age 97, formerly of Remus, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Masonic Pathways in Alma where she had resided the last ten years. She was born the eldest of 6 on February 5, 1911 in Detroit to Richard and Wilhelmina "Grace" (Gamble) Parkhouse. Charlotte spent her childhood in the Detroit area moving to California with her husband Fred Sanger in the 1960's. It wasn't until after Fred passed away in 1977 that Charlotte moved to Remus. Charlotte is survived by two loving daughters: Karen (James) Diehm of Remus and Lori (Michael) Shanebeck of Fullerton, Calif., two sisters; Lorraine Kreutzkamp and Ethel Gilery, seven (7) grandchildren, ten (10) great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred and sisters; Grace, Harriet and Philippa. Funeral services for Charlotte will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with interment at Wambolt Cemetery in Remus.
