Cecil "Jim" Weller, age 64 of Big Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at his home. He was born in Flint on October 31, 1956, the son of Cecil Junior and Leilla (Johnson) Weller. Jim was a 1976 graduate from Reed City High School. He then pursued his passion for ministry by attending Rhema Bible School in Oklahoma. Jim married Deborah Foster on May 5, 1990, and together they raised their family in Big Rapids. He was employed by Staples for 10 years as well as other various businesses throughout the community. Jim was an Associate Pastor for different churches in the area; he enjoyed hearing the Word of the Bible and sharing it with others. Jim attended Grace Calvary Fellowship in Big Rapids when he was able to and most recently Eagle Mountain International Church. He was also a Detroit Tigers Baseball fan and liked to watch Star Trek. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Deb Weller of Big Rapids; three children, Sara Weller of Big Rapids, Stephanie Weller of Mesick, and Joey Weller of Big Rapids; four siblings, Cheryl (Tim) Orr of Texas, Reverend Ron (Lee) Weller of Big Rapids, Jeanna Lindsey, and Patrick Lindsey; special aunt, Norma Johnson; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his dog, Ginger. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Gene Muse, and two nephews, Jared and Wade Weller. Due to COVID-19, a memorial service will be planned for a later date.
