Cecelia Mary Jane (Badder) Hetherington, age 78, passed away peacefully at home, in Barryton, with her beloved family at her side on January 2, 2018. Cecelia was born on January 30, 1939, in Flint to Joseph and Mary (Hemstreet) Badder. Cecelia married Ralph L. Hetherington on September 7, 1957 at Oak Park Methodist Church and they made their home in Flint where they raised their family. Cecelia was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She was an avid bowler for 37 years and enjoyed softball and tending to her flower gardens. When the children were younger she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She spent seven years volunteering for the March of Dimes and for two years was a host for the CANUSA Games in Flint. Cecelia treasured the time she spent with her family and put them first. She is survived by: her husband of 60 years Ralph of Barryton; five children, Bryan (Shirley) Hetherington, Pam Phillips, Bruce (Sally) Hetherington, Michelle (Floyd Koontz) Riskovich and Angela (Troy) Miller; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Rev. Bruce Badder, Russell Badder, Bonnie (Rev. Frank) Yount, Floyd Badder, Connie Natzel, Ernie (Sue) Badder and Sheila (Rev. Mike) Natzel and several nieces, nephews and close friends. Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Fred and Mildred Hetherington; nephew, Blaine Badder; two sons-in-law, Randy Riskovich and Bill Phillips; a daughter-in-law, Diane Hetherington and brother-in-law, George Natzel. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Visitation will also be held 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8th at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Funeral services will take place at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Tuesday, January 9th at Sharp Funeral Home with the family greeting friends one hour prior. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Gardens. Any memorial contributions in Cecelias name can be made to Ralph to be given to a charity at a later date.
