Catherine June Davis, age 64 of Chippewa Lake went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 20, 2006 at her home. She was born Sept. 25, 1941 in Mt. Lookout, West Virginia to Allen and Virginia (Legg) Kincaid. In 1961 Cathy moved to St. Johns, Mich. While living in St. Johns Cathy worked as a hostess at the Wheel Inn for a number of years. She enjoyed bowling, cake decorating and making silk arrangements for weddings. On August 22, 1987 Cathy married the man she adored, Richard B. Davis. Dick and Cathy moved to Chippewa Lake in 1991. Cathy enjoyed working at the East Bay General Store for 13 years where she avidly pursued raising funds for the fireworks and building lasting friendships with the customers. Cathy loved gardening, cooking and canning. She attended the Chippewa Lake Community Church. Cathy was a strong and spunky woman who didn't want to give up on life, in her own words "she was a tough old bird." She is survived by her loving daughter's Chris Eckley of Kalamazoo Mary (Nori) Kondo of Plainsboro, New Jersey Three Stepchildren and their families Brian Davis of DeWitt Denise (Dave) Carlson of Bath Karen (Jim) Suniga of Lansing Three grandchildren: Ashley, Jared and Madoka One sister Pearl Shaffer of WV, Five brothers; Freddie, Bill (Patti), Jim (Carolyn), Eddie (Kay) and Chris (Nancy) Kincaid all of West Virginia, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents Cathy was preceded in death by Richard Davis, Sept. 29, 2005, brother-in-law John Shaffer and sister-in-law Ruth Kincaid. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Thurday, August 24 at the Chippewa Lake Community Church. Memorial contributions in Cathy's name may be sent to the Mecosta County Commission on Aging-
