Catherine E. Holman, age 79, of Big Rapids passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Altercare of Big Rapids. She was born May 19, 1927 in Clinton County, Michigan to Bernard and Anna (Witgen) Martin. She was a member of St. Paul's Campus Parish and had also attended St. Mary Catholic Church both of Big Rapids. Catherine loved to quilt and strongly believed in the Right To Life. She resided at Creekside Foster Care Home in Big Rapids for several years and the family will be forever grateful for the wonderful care she was given. Catherine is survived by: three sons "" Phillip and Gary Holman of Cocoa, FL and Mark (Annette) Holman of Hopkins, MI Three daughters "" Mary (Mitch) Miller of SanRafael, CA Karen Holman of Lima, OH Carol (Jack) Tinker of Big Rapids Two brothers "" Marvin Martin of Morley Roman (Betty) Martin of Grand Rapids One sister "" Rose (John) Winstanley of Grand Ledge, MI Several grandchildren Three great-grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Arthur, Harold, and Bernard Martin. A Memorial Mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 19th at St. Paul's Campus Parish in Big Rapids with Father Lam T. Le officiating. Another memorial service is being planned for this May, with internment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions in Catherine's name may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Contribution envelopes are available at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids where arrangements were made.
