Catherine Ruth "Katie" Closson nee Simons, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008. She was born June 22, 1918. Katie was an avid bird watcher and reader. Katie is survived by 3 sons; Jerry (Pat) Closson of Gowen, Tom Closson of Lutz, FL and Mike Closson of Barryton, two daughters, Jackie (Virgil) Sowle of Jacksonville, FL and Marilynn (Dick) Glaspie of Barryton, eleven grandsons and one granddaughter; a brother, Bill Simons of Ludington and brother-in-law, Robert Perry of Lansing. Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Buster and one brother, Jim and 2 sisters, Geraldine Perry and Laura Schade. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at Flake Cemetery in Barryton. Arrangements were entrusted to the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
