Casey Thomas Marek, age 47, died peacefully at his home in Stanwood Sunday, July 3, 2022. He was born May 29, 1975 in Big Rapids, the son of Frank and Joyce (Karnick) Marek. He married the love of his life Anneke Veenstra October 9, 2004 on Mackinac Island. Caseys charisma and style were unmatched. He could easily talk with people and had a wonderful sense of humor. Casey was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being out in nature and especially hunting deer. He was a great cook who enjoyed cooking for his family. He had a passion for playing cards and chess with family and friends. He will be missed by all who loved him. Casey is survived by his daughter, MacKenna; sons, Casey "CJ", and Dylan; mother, Joyce Marek; sister, Jennifer (Jon) Locke; and brother, Will Marek. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anneke Marek in 2012; and father, Frank "Bill" Marek. Graveside service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2022 at Stanwood Cemetery.
