Carolyn Ranshaw, age 81 of Barryton, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born December 4, 1942 in Lansing the daughter of Ashton and Helen (Gregg) Kilpatrick. She was raised in Charlotte, MI and graduated from Charlotte High School in 1961. Carolyn furthered her education at Lansing Community College where she earned an Associates in Mechanical Engineering. On April 3, 1971 she married Lowell E. Ranshaw and together they made their home in Holt. Carolyn worked for Edwards Electric in Lansing. Following her retirement, Carolyn and Lowell moved to their home on Big Evens Lake in Barryton to live permanently. Carolyns greatest joy in life was being around her friends and family. She enjoyed singing Karaoke at Murphy's Bar in Barryton and she loved the happy times she spent with her friends, who are affectionately known as the "80s Ladies. Carolyn will be forever missed by her loving family, including two daughters, Gail (Mary Sanchez) Ranshaw of Albuquerque, NM, Pam (Doug) Johnson of Charlotte, MI; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Lowell on February 3, 2012, a daughter Teresa Blanford, a grandson Jim Ranshaw and one sister. There will be a memorial Celebration for Carolyn at 1:00 p.m. Saturday June 29, 2024 at Murphys Bar, 32 Northern Avenue, Barryton, MI 49305, with a luncheon to follow.
