Caroline Eleanor (Sowels) Stockwell age 90 of Barryton, went on to be with the Lord on March 25, 2013 in Big Rapids, Michigan. She was born on Sept. 17, 1922 to John M. and Eleanor M. (Showers) Burnell in Madera, PA. She moved to Michigan, met Orval Alfred Sowels. They married on June 28, 1941. They lived in the Pontiac, Michigan area until 1967 when they moved to Tubbs Lake. They had seven children: Orval Gary (Brenda) Sowels, TX, Alfred Larry (Sharon Muradian) Sowels, Lake Orion, MI, John J. (Linda) Sowels, Rev. Sherry (Ted) Conway, Terry L. Kern, FL, Kary L. (Christine Conley) Sowels, Mecosta, MI and Penny Sue Webbley, Big Rapids, MI. Orval preceded her in death in 1972. She married Glenn C. Stockwell in 1977. He preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Dora (Dolly) Pifer, two children John Jerry Sowels, Rev. Sherry Conway and 2 grandchildren. She is survived by five children, a brother (John M. Burnell, Clarkston, MI), 14 grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. There will be a memorial service at Barryton Free Methodist Church on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2pm. The family will greet friends for 1 hour prior to the memorial. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the Barryton Free Methodist Church Children's Summer Camp fund.
