Carol Tinker age 73 passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2022. She was born February 11, 1949 in Big Rapids the daughter of Porter J. and Katherine E. (Martin) Holman. Carol was a lifelong resident of Big Rapids, graduating from St. Mary Catholic School and from Big Rapids High School in 1967. Carol was employed by Ferris State University where she worked in Dining Services.She was very proud of her children and cherished the time she could spend with her beloved grandchildren. Carol will forever be remembered as a woman with great humility and kindness. She had an unwavering Christian Faith and was always there to help others.Carol is survived by her grateful family, including her two children, Rebecca (Lenny) Vaughan of Big Rapids, Matthew (Jodi) Doxtater of Bloomfield, IA; 6 grandchildren; Ashlynn, Brynn and Jace Vaughan; Olivia and Brett Doxtater and Jenni (Ben) Bowman; 2 great-granddaughters, Kayla and Zoey Bowman. Carol is also survived by her three Tinker stepdaughters; Rhonda Couillard of Canadian Lakes, Robin Tinker of Big Rapids, Renel (Greg) Groenink of Florida; three step-grandchildren; Britney (Jared) Anderson, Alexis and Grant Groenink, 2 step-great-grandchildren, Noah and Lennox Anderson; her 2 brothers Mark and Gary Holman; 2 sisters, Mary and Karen Holman; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her second husband, Jack Tinker, daughter Suzanne Bos, infant son, William "Billy" Doxtater and a brother, Philip Holman.A Celebration of Carols Life will take place 11:00 a.m. June 30, 2022 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor David Watkins officiating.
