Carol R. Supenski, age 56 of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was born February 28, 1959 in Manning, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Eileen (Hilbert) Pace. Carol graduated from Fort Dodge High School in Iowa in 1977 and attended the University of Northern Iowa where she earned her bachelor's degree in education. Carol began her teaching career in Lower Brule, South Dakota on the Sioux Reservation. She married Donald Supenski and the two traveled around the United States together. She later moved to the Big Rapids area where she continued teaching and most recently was employed by Ferris State University at NEMCSA Head Start. Carol was an active member at the Big Rapids First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Carol loved her family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two daughters, Cora and Shannon Supenski, both of Big Rapids; brother, Les (Debbie) Pace of WI; and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jo Ann Pierson. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, October 1st at 11am at the Big Rapids First United Methodist Church with Reverend Rebecca Morrison officiating.
