Obituary

Carol Jayne Lattimore, 85 of Rodney, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 with family by her side. Carol was born on December 27, 1936 to Carl and Selma (Nyman) Toogood. She graduated from Barryton Rural Agricultural School in 1955. Carol married Darwin Lattimore on June 11, 1955. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Carol and Darwin were Dairy Farmers for 18 years. In 1973 Carol and Darwin established Lattimores Mobile Home Sales. She was a very dedicated business woman. Carol operated Lattimores Mobile Home Sales until she was 81 years old, never forgetting a customer. She believed in treating everyone fairly. Carol was a huge supporter of the Chippewa Lake Community Church (formerly Chippewa Lake Methodist Church). She was in the choir and was the pianist for 63 years. Carol also enjoyed being part of the Country Janes Extension Group. The family would like to thank and express their gratitude to Darlene and Kathy for their care, kindness, and special friendship for the last four years of Carols life. The family would also like to thank Fatima for helping care for Carol in the last few months of her life. Carol is survived by three sons, Dennis (Kathy), Dean (Cindy), Andy (Katey), grandchildren, Katie Lattimore, Seth (Tiffany) Lattimore, Natalie (Joe) Aguirre, Darla (Calvin) Zimmerman, A.J. (Melissa) Lattimore, Amber (Gavin) Erbes, Ty (Kylie) Lattimore; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Madox Zimmerman, Croix, Ayla and Ailee Lattimore, Brazlee, Latti Erbes, Brynn and Emery Lattimore; sister, Margie (Dennis) Randolph; sister-in-law Marlene (Bruce) Cummings; nieces and nephews, Tammy (Gerry Garland) Cummings, Darin (Lisa) Cummings, Jeff (Sharon) Toogood, Judy (Mike) Reynolds, Karen Toogood, Dale Eric Toogood, Kim Toogood, Carl (Kara Eischens) Randolph, Kyle (Tammy) Randolph, Karla Randolph; and many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darwin; parents, Carl & Selma Toogood; in-laws, R.J. & Neva Lattimore; grandson Evan Lattimore; brother, Dale Toogood; nephews, Dave Toogood, Brian Randolph; sister-in-law, Nancy Toogood Sharp; and best friend since childhood, Joyce Martiny. Carol loved her family, friends, church and running the business with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10 with visitation an hour prior at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Roger Bennett officiating. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 9th at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Carols name to the Chippewa Lake Community Church.
