Carol A. Hoover, age 77 of White Cloud formerly of Bloomingdale, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023 at her home. She was born in Chicago on January 20, 1946, the daughter of Virgil and Bernice (Koziol) Zalewski. Carol married Harold July 8, 1967 at Saint John Cantius Catholic Church and together they raised their family in Addison, Villa Park, and Elmhurst areas until they settled in Bloomingdale. Carol was employed by Dominicks for 27 years until she retired in 2014. She and Harold purchased their retirement dream home in White Cloud in 2019 and made it their full-time home in 2021. Carol was an artist sharing her talent of oil painting. She enjoyed spending time with family and gathering for holidays. She is survived by her husband, Harold Hoover of White Cloud; four children, Steven Hoover of Elk Grove Village, IL, Christina (Peter) Hoogestraat of Warrenville, IL, Samantha (Manuel) Oller of Riverside, IL, and Matt (Jessica) Hoover of New Lenox, IL; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (30), Jack (13), Charlie (11), Wren (9), Henry (17), Jane (14), Wyatt (5), and Easton (3); sister, Cathie (Joe) Jurkowski of Algonquin, IL; brother, Patrick (fiance Debbie Miller) Zalewski of Hanover Park, IL; sister-in-law, Cherie Ann Scott of Arlington Heights, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sandra North, father and mother-in-law Lyle Sr. and Emily Hoover, and brother-in-law Lyle Hoover Jr. A Memorial Service is being planned for a later date.
