Carol L. Bolender, age 72 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 9, 1945 in Brighton the daughter of Elbert H. and Winona C. (Wallace) Donaldson. Carol married August "Gus" Bolender on October 20, 1979 in Fremont and together they made their home near White Cloud. Carol had been employed as a bookkeeper and office manager. Following the birth of her son, Benjamin, Carol worked as a homemaker and homeschool teacher; that was the job she loved the most. She is survived by her children, Amy Rose of Stanwood, Benjamin (Lois) Bolender of Silver Springs, Maryland; three grandchildren, Jason Bolender, Morgan Bolender, Cameron Rose; a brother, Jerry Donaldson of Lakewood, Colorado; several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, August "Gus" Bolender Jr. on May 26, 2006, a granddaughter Samantha Rose, sisters Linda Hale and Patricia Faulk. A graveside service will take place 3:30 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at Hungerford Cemetery, Norwich Township in Newaygo County. Memorial contributions in Carols name may be made to Spectrum Health Foundation (Hospice) or A.R.C. of Mecosta County. Envelopes may be obtained at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids where arrangements were made.
