Carl Nahan Geasler, age 98 of Coldwater Twp., passed away Monday, September 10, 2007 at his home with loved ones at his side. He was born February 15, 1909 in Coldwater Twp. to George and Emma (Wagenman) Geasler. Carl lived his entire life in Coldwater Twp. and was active in the Michigan Barn Preservation Network. He surveyed all the barns in Coldwater Twp. and wrote their history. Carl was a founder of the Coldwater Twp. Veterans Memorial Park and active in its services to the community. Carl was a farmer and gardener who enjoyed sharing his produce with the entire community. He drove school bus for the Weidman School and worked at the Mt. Pleasant State Home. Carl was instrumental in creating the public access site at Littlefield Lake. He helped improve Stevenson Lake Road and cleared the brush down to the lake for the boat landing. Carl had a deep concern for wildlife and the environment he loved to fish and hunt. He is survived by his adoring sister Hazel Graham and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Emma and his siblings: Ray, Levi, Ellen, Ralph, Otis and Doris. Donations in Carl's name may be made to the Isabella County Commission on Aging. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with interment at North Brinton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
