On June 4, 2023, Buelah Lucille (Slentz) Lasley passed away at her home and was surrounded by her loving family. Buelah was born on March 29, 1935, in Seminole Oklahoma to Herbert Lavaun and Alice Mary (Holder) Slentz where her family lived and she attended the local schools until her family moved to California. She then attended her final year of high school in Bakersfield, CA where she met her husband, Billy "Bill" Lyle Lasley on a blind date. They were married 69 days later on June 26, 1954, in China Lake, CA. Buelah was a Navy wife for 20 years, moving about every two years with her five children when the family's final move was to Big Rapids, in 1972. Buelah worked in accounts receivable at the Big Rapids General Hospital, now known as CoreWell Hospital for 22 years where she retired in 1995. After retirement, she would play Bingo, loved going to the casino as well as making many quilts for her family. Buelah is survived by her daughters, Vickie Lasley, Debbera (Mark) Lunsted, Donna Snavley, Brenda Rouhan and her son, Jerry (Darleen) Lasley as well as her brother, Eugene (Claudia) Slentz of CA. Nine grandchildren, Michael Lunsted (Tiffany Spedowski), Jeffery (Sherrill) Lunsted, Eric (Bridget) Snavley, Kari (Caleb) Grafton, Torri (Chad) Moore, Nolan (Shannon Wheat) Rouhan, Myranda Banos, Drew Lasley and Chase Lasley. 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, son-in-law Frank Rouhan and grandson Travis Rouhan, parents, sisters, Gladys Hall, Betty Perryman and Zelma Wright and sisters-in-law Nancy Daughty and Cynthia (George) Ziegler. Cremation has taken place and her final resting place will be by her husband at Highland View Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mid-Michigan Honor Flight or to the Wounded Warrior Project. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
