Bruce W. Nordland, age 62 of Big Rapids, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Spectrum Health Reed City Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born February 2, 1954 in Big Rapids, the son of Dwight and Betty (Skeoch) Nordland. Bruce was raised in the Chippewa Lake area and attended Chippewa Hills High School. He enlisted in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War before he was honorably discharged. Bruce owned and operated C & B Linen in Evart for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and boating. Bruce was a member of the VFW, Big Rapids Eagles Aerie 2535, and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his three children, Millisa (Denny) Getgood of Midland, Scott (Amanda) Nordland of Big Rapids, and Bret (Maria) Nordland of Vermontville; seven grandchildren; one brother; one sister; many nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Connie Nordland. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Clear Lake Golf Club in Big Rapids.
