Brian Douglass Milligan, age 58 of Big Rapids, passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved flying his ultralight airplane. He was born in Jackson on November 3, 1962, the son of the late Gerald and Rita (Douglass) Milligan. Brian was a 1981 graduate of Dow High School. He then attended Ferris State University before earning his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Saginaw Valley State University. Brian greatly enjoyed being in the United States Army where he was a MedEvac Pilot learning from Vietnam Veterans. He married Cynthia Moffett on August 24, 1985 and together they raised their two sons in Howard City. Brian had unconditional love for his family, especially his grandchildren. It was known that Brian retired to be a full-time grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cynthia of Big Rapids; two sons, Adam (Libby) of Allendale and David (Whitney) of Big Rapids; five grandchildren, William, Eliza, Arabella, Chase, and Beckett; two sisters, Sally (Jim) Nista and Susan (Mark) Baierlipp both of Florida; father and mother-in-law, Russell and Illa Moffett of Big Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Brians Life will take place with a short service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at Resurrection Life Church, 14734 215th Avenue, Big Rapids. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Church.
