Brian H. Coe, age 56 of Big Rapids, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids unexpectedly due to an illness. He was born July 6, 1959 in Stoneham, MA, the son of Erwin and Elizabeth "Betty" (Boyd) Coe. Brian graduated high school from The Greater Boston Academy in 1979. He earned an associate degree from Ferris State University and an Associate Degree in Airplane Mechanics from Lansing Community College. Brian had many talents and used them at the various positions he held throughout his working life; most recently he was employed in Big Rapids as a commercial beekeeper. Brian loved dogs and was a member of the American Plott Association. He enjoyed hunting bear and mountain lions. Brian is survived by his parents, Erwin and Betty Coe of Big Rapids; sister, Laureen "Laurie" (Brett) Hahn of Eaton Rapids; brother, Bradlee (Amanda) Coe of Rio Rancho, NM; six nieces and nephews, Cameron, Devin, Elyssa, Carly, Emilee and Zeona. A memorial service will take place 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Brian's name may be made to the University of Michigan Frankel Cardiovascular Center.
