Obituary

Brian Keith Cady, age 66 of Big Rapids, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 7, 1957 in Big Rapids, the son of George Irwin Cady and Marcella June (Gilchrist) Cady and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1975. Brian spent three years in the United States Military, Army Security Agency. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he returned to the Big Rapids area where he married his lifelong partner of 45 years, Tina Lea Smart on September 2, 1978. He then worked for Bechaz Construction, did a stint with Wolverine Worldwide, then hired into Federal Screw Works where he spent the next 45 years and was currently employed. Brian was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother Edith Cady; stepbrother Gary Adams of Florida; stepsister Cathy Cady of Big Rapids; brothers-in-law Steven Timothy Wright of Paris and Steven Jensen of Rodney. He is survived by his lovely wife, Tina Lea Cady; son, Brian (Jennifer) Cady of Rodney; daughter, Cristy Cady Withers of Big Rapids; two grandchildren, Chad William Cady, Kally Leighann Cady; six sisters, Cindy (Jim) Cornell, Deb Wright, Jackie Jensen, Brenda (Don) Griffis, Faye (Daryl) Young, Karen Cady Wright; stepbrother, Larry Adams of Reed City; stepsister, Connie Randell Morcom of Big Rapids; half-sister, Julie (Kevin) Bartlett of Chelsea; and many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention but still loved. Brian loved to hunt and fish, play music and was an avid gardener. Brian had three passions in life and they were his wife Tina, and his two grandchildren, Chad and Kally all of whom he loved very much. At this time Brian would like to thank Federal Screw Works and Tom ZurSchmiede for many years of service and for being such a good friend. He would also like to thank Scott and Karen Morningstar and Dale and Gloria Weeks for being such special friends, but especially his wife for putting up with him and whom he will always love. No services are being planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in Brians name to Tina, envelopes may be picked up at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home (13985 Northland Drive, Big Rapids, MI 49307).
