Brenda L. Beach, age 50 of Canadian Lakes, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at her home. She was diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cholangitis, a rare auto immune disease of the liver in 2003. In early November 2017 she was diagnosed with cancer. Brenda was born May 24, 1967 in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of Ellis and Nancy (Homernik) Williams. She was raised in Baroda and graduated from Lake Shore High School in 1985. Brenda married Michael Beach on October 3, 1987 and together they raised their family in northern Indiana before moving to Canadian Lakes. She graduated from Ferris State University in 2014 earning her associates degree in Sonography. Brenda loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed scrapbooking and documenting family memories and traveling. Brenda and Michael recently celebrated their 30th anniversary together by taking a trip to New York City, Italy and Switzerland. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Brenda is survived by her husband, Michael Beach of Canadian Lakes; five children, Michael II (Alexandra) Beach of Manistee, Kimberly Beach of Remus, Caitlin Beach of Ann Arbor, Megan Beach of Big Rapids, and Ryan Beach of Canadian Lakes; one grandson, Ezra Beach and one granddaughter, Violet, on the way; father, Ellis (Sue Butt) Williams of Berrien Springs; mother, Nancy Williams of Coloma; two sisters, Angie (Brian) Story of Watervliet and Marti Gibert of Arizona; many nieces and nephews; and her mother and father-in-law, Jim and Ruth Beach of Portage, Michigan. Funeral services will take place 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Gordon Elzinga, a family friend, officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 15th at the funeral home. Brenda will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Battle Creek Cemetery.
