Bonnie Mursch Rom, age 77 of Mecosta, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 at her daughters home. She was born September 6, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of Roy and Mae (Derevage) Olmstead. Bonnie made her home in Mecosta County for over 45 years. She was retired from Ferris State University where she had been a cook for over 21 years. She is survived by her beloved children; Kathy (Ron) DeMott of Mecosta, Art (Pam) Cour of Mecosta, Terry (Lynn) Cour of Evart; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother Dick Olmstead of West Gate and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Stan "Speck" and Cliff Olmstead; 3 sisters, Betty Linconfilter, Doris Warner and Helen Warner. A memorial services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Reverend Victor Charnley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Bonnie's name may be made to the Mecosta county Commission on Aging "" for transportation.
