Bonnie L. Jorgensen, age 91 of Barryton, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 surrounded by her adoring and loving family at Royal View Assisted Living. Bonnie was born January 11, 1929 in Detroit to Loyd and Lucille (Noffke) Potter. She graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1946. On November 10, 1951 Bonnie married her high school sweetheart, James "Paul" Jorgensen in Big Rapids. In 1961 they made their home in Barryton. During her working years she was a teachers aide and the playground supervisor at Chippewa Hills Barryton Elementary. She retired in 1984. Bonnies love for animals inspired the hobby farm they both enjoyed at home. They always made time to attend their children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Bonnie is survived by her loving family: children, Lori (Steven) Helmer of Barryton, Kim (Dennis) Hall of Fort Meyers, FL, Jim (Ann) Jorgensen of Barryton; grandchildren: Ryan Hall, Amanda Jorgensen, Kyle (Bridget) Butts, Paul (Gne) Jorgensen, Alicia (John) Morrill, Kurt (Amanda) Helmer, Sam Helmer and Sarah (Todd) Taylor; eight great-grandchildren; one nephew, Martin Amon; special family and friends, David Butts, Donna McCoy and Stacey Shafe. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul Jorgensen, two brothers, Glenn (Bessie) Potter and Larry (Phyllis) Potter; brother-in-law, Lyle Jorgensen; sister-in-law, Esther (Richard) Amon and one niece, Carol Amon. A special thank you to Laura Whaley and the loving staff at Royal View Assisted Living. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bonnies name can be made to Royal View. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Barryton Church of Christ with Pastor Rick Lippert officiating. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, January 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
