Obituary

Bonnie L. Blackmer, age 61of Barryton, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006 at her home. She was born July 24, 1944 in Mt. Pleasant to Daniel and Margaret (Moore) Earnest. Bonnie married Benjamin Blackmer March 16, 1963. Bonnie had a well rounded working career. She was a nurse's aide and went to beauty school. She enjoyed working alongside her husband at the Barryton Hardware store which they owned and operated. Bonnie also worked for Farrow's in Mt. Pleasant and Surrey Products in Clare for a number of years. Bonnie enjoyed crocheting, cherished the time she got to spend with her family and loved to play BINGO at the Weidman V.F.W. Post. Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Ben of Barryton; Three sons: David (Carol) Blackmer of Barryton Ross W. Blackmer of Barryton Tony L. Blackmer of Weidman Two grandchildren Carolyn Thomas and Benjamin Blackmer Two great-grandchildren Shawn and Kara Mother: Margaret V. Earnest Sisters: Eva (Roy) Findley and Peggy (John) Wixson And several nieces, nephews and cousins Bonnie was preceded in death by her father Daniel Earnest, sister Sue Langlois and one grandson Allen Blackmer. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at the Barryton Church of God with Pastor John Mellish officiating. Burial will be at North Brinton Cemetery in Lake. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Memorial contributions in Bonnie's name may be made to the Cancer Society, Lupus Foundation, or Hospice of Michigan.
