Beverly Lilleen Morris, DeGood, Visser age 97 passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024. She was born November 24, 1926 the daughter of George and Agnes (Svoboda) Morris.
Beverly was a wonderful mother to four girls, she was also a wife, sister and a caring person to her sons-in-law, grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many friends. Beverly was born and raised in the Creston Heights area with her sister Phyllis Blik and brother Walter Morris. She attended Grand Rapids Business College; following graduation she took time out to raise her four daughters; Sue, Debby, Wendy and Robin in Ada and Sand Lake with her then husband, Bill DeGood. Bev continued her career working as one of many accountants at Steelcase. In 1972 Beverly married Bill Visser and they moved to the Morley area in 1974. Together they built a beautiful home back in the woods where Bev lived for almost 50 years.
Beverly stayed busy for quite a few years in the area. She worked in the accounting department at Kelsey Hospital in Lakeview; she worked at the Morley Party Store, now WeeBees and for the Village of Morley. She volunteered at the Mecosta County Historical Society, she enjoyed reading and was a member of the Walton Erickson Book Club, she was active in the Red Hat Society, the attic Diggers, she collected hats, she hosted tea parties and traveled when she was able. Beverly had attended and volunteered at the Northland Global Methodist Church in Stanwood for 25 years. Bev truly enjoyed her family, friends and helping others.
In 2023 Beverly moved to Rest Haven in the Creston Heights area where she once again enjoyed talking, sharing past stories and doing activities with the staff and other residents.
The family would like to thank everyone at Rest Haven for making her time with them so pleasant and keeping her comfortable at the end. We would also like to thank Faith Hospice for being at her side and Butterworth Hospital.
To all of you who knew Beverly in her 97 years, we are quite certain there are plenty of other things that she did and we are grateful you were all a part of her life. We are sure there are many memories and stories to tell. If you would like to share any of them, you can do so at www.daggettgilbertfuneralhome.com
Beverly is survived by many beloved family, friends, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is being planned to celebrate Beverlys life later this summer when all her family can gather and serve her favorite meal of sloppy joes, potato chips, ice cream and chocolate. Beverly will be laid to rest at the Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley marked by her headstone that reads "Home at Last".
In lieu of flowers donations in Beverlys name may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
