Beverly Jean Duffy, age 80 of Morley, passed away Friday July 6, 2012 at her home. She was born November 16, 1931 in Ferndale, Washington the daughter of John and Lillian Rice. Beverly graduated high school and went to Arkansas where she met and married Charles M. Harper. The young couple began their family and then moved to Grand Rapids where Beverly worked as a nurse at the V.A. Hospital for over 27 years. She later moved to Morley where she has lived for the past 15 years. Beverly attended the First Baptist Church of Morley. She will always be remembered as a hard working woman and a wonderful mother who was so proud to be a Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother to many. She is survived by her beloved family of eight children; Jane E. Guldi of Howard City, Melba L. Winright of Morley, Martha O. Harper of Grand Rapids, Charles P. Harper of Morley, Sandra K. Harper of Morley, Tricia A. Harper of Big Rapids, Jerry M. Harper of LeRoy, Dana C. (Carl) Velting of Morley; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, John Rice of Oklahoma City, Donald Riffe' of Ferndale, WA; step-sister Margie of Ferndale, WA and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her dear husband, Charles M. Harper and an infant daughter, Jeanette Harper. Funeral services will take place 2:00 p.m. Monday, (today) July 9th at the First Baptist Church of Morley with Pastor Steve Finn officiating. Burial will be at Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley. Visitation will take place Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Beverly's name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Morley.
