Betty L. Warren, age 87 of Barryton, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 in Big Rapids. She was born on July 6, 1921 in Kylertown, Pennsylvania to Frederick and Mary Stanquits. Betty graduated from Weidman High School in 1938 and then attended Flint Junior College for two years. She transferred to Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant afterwards. At C.M.U. Betty completed her Masters degree and continued to take classes until she'd achieved beyond the Specialist degree. She taught high school english, middle school health and physical education, elementary music and kindergarten for a total of 40 years. After retiring, she did substitute teaching for 14 additional years. Betty is survived by one son, Paul Warren of Big Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Warren and one son, Jonathan Warren. Betty enjoyed church work, reading, swimming and traveling. Funeral services will take place 12:00 p.m. (noon) Monday, June 1st at the Barryton Church of God, with Pastor John M. Mellish officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Interment will be at Sherman City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty's name may be made to the Barryton Church of God. Arrangements are entrusted to the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
