Betty Elaine Crawford, age 89 of Big Rapids, went to be with her Lord Friday, April 2, 2010. She was born August 18, 1920 in Traverse City the daughter of the late Harry and Charlotte (Thies) Fouch. Betty graduated from Traverse High School. She married Charles Crawford in 1941. The couple lived in Traverse City until moving to Big Rapids in 1957. Betty was employed at Ferris State University until retiring as a counselor for the School of Allied Health. Betty was a devout member of the First Baptist Church in Big Rapids. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and was an avid golfer. Betty dearly loved her family and will be forever missed by every member including her beloved husband of 68 years, Chuck Crawford of Big Rapids; three children, Barbara (Wesley) Knight of Big Rapids, Bruce Crawford of Dearborn, currently working in Russia, Wendy Crawford of Los Angeles, CA; 3 grandchildren, Scott Crawford, Trevor (Verenice) Crawford and Lindsay (Ryan) Goodrich; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Don Fouch of Traverse City, Bill (Nat) Fouch of Bath; a sister, Vera Wilson of Ann Arbor and many nieces and nephews. There will be no public services. Those wishing to give a memorial contribution in Betty's name may do so to either the Salvation Army or the First Baptist Church of Big Rapids.
