Betty J. Baldwin, age 92 of Big Rapids, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022. She was born in Hartford on June 26, 1930, the daughter of the late Delbert and Iva (Udell) Wilson. Betty was a 1948 graduate from Hartford High School. She married Merle Baldwin on October 1, 1948 and together they raised their children in Bangor and Stanwood, MI. Betty and Merle enjoyed family camping trips to the UP and throughout the country. In later years they traveled the country together making their home in various cities. Betty was employed by Ferris State University, Volkswagen of Big Rapids, and later Aiken County Services in Georgia. She liked watching golf, playing cards and visits to the casino. Bettys talents included archery and painting. Betty is survived by three children, David Baldwin of Big Rapids, Deborah (Walt) Obert of Big Rapids, and Doreen (Chrie) Baldwin-White of Whitehall; four grandchildren, Scott (Michelle) Baldwin, Christopher (Cara) Obert, Laura (Kevin) Rop, and Lacey Baldwin; ten great-grandchildren; her PSUG family; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Merle Baldwin, son Douglas Baldwin, brother Kenneth Wilson, three sisters Ferna McIntyre, Doris Gough, and Juanita Emmert, and daughter-in-law Tina Baldwin. A Memorial Service will take place at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home on Sunday, August 28th at 3pm. Visitation will be from 2pm to 3pm. Pastor Rick Blunt will officiate.
