Beatrice H. "Cookie" Mulcahy, age 87 of Jenison formerly of Mecosta, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020. She was born December 7, 1932 in New York, the daughter of Paul and Helen (Gorski) Merva. Beatrice married John T. Mulcahy Sr. on September 4, 1954. The family moved to Mecosta in 1971 to make their home, and to Jenison in 2009. Beatrice was employed by Ferris State University and the Morton Township Office as an Administrative Secretary. She was a member of the St. John Chrysostom Russian Orthodox Church. Beatrice is survived by her two sons, John Jr. (Lori) Mulcahy of Louisville, Kentucky and Timothy (Ann) Mulcahy of Cedar Springs; her daughter, Debra Mulcahy of Jenison; five grandchildren, John III, Grace, Anna, Abigail, and Ryan Mulcahy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother Paul Merva. Funeral services will take place 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at St. John Chrysostom Russian Orthodox Church, 40 National Avenue NW, Grand Rapids, with Father James Anthony officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 28 at the Church with a memorial service to follow. Beatrice will be laid to rest at St. Michaels Cemetery in Remus.
