Obituary

Beatrice L. Burden, age 94 of Morley passed away September 20, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 21, 1918 in Austin Township, the daughter of William and Onalee (Johnston) Wilber. Beatrice married Lionel Burden and they lived in numerous places before settling, in 1951, at their home on Five Mile Road. She was a busy homemaker and a loving wife and mother. Beatrice also worked outside her home for many years as a clerk for Bovens Custom Butchering. She is survived by a large and loving family including her three children; William (Bonnie) Burden, Donald Burden, Jane (Ronald) Schuberg all of Morley, a daughter-in-law, Mildred Burden of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren, Gordon Burden, Theresa (Jim) DeVries, Sherri (Mike) McLellen, Anthony (Stacey) Schuberg, Thomas Burden, Adam Schuberg, Donald (Jenny) Burden, James Burden, Megan (David Kaurich) Burden; 14 great-grandchildren, April (Dan) Decator, Tina Thurston, Stephanie (Brandon) Noeldner, David (Emily) Burden, Michael Burden, Joshua McLellen, Justin McLellen, Samantha Burden, Morgan Wernette, Nicholas Burden, Zackary Schuberg, Levi Schuberg, Hailey Burden, Kyle Kaurich; six great-great-grandchildren, Dallas and Brianna McRoberts, Branden, Cayden and Logan Decator, Bryleigh McLellen; a sister Alberta Pike of Stanwood and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Burden in 1990, a son, Gordon Burden on 1991, two infant granddaughters, two sisters, Evelyn Bassett and Ione Jackson; three brothers, Donald, Bryce and Dean Wilber and a special brother-in-law, Wellington "Bill" Burden. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 24th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Philip Bongard officiating. Burial will be at Higbee Cemetery near Morley. The family will greet friends on Sunday, Sept. 23rd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
