Beatrice R. Behro, age 80 of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009. She was born May 26, 1929. Bea grew up in Big Rapids and in 1948 moved to Grand Rapids. She returned to Big Rapids in 1985 to make her home. Bea dearly loved her cats and dogs and gave many strays a wonderful home. She also enjoyed knitting. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Andrew; 3 children, Andy (Marty) Behro of Jenison, Daryl Behro of Kentwood, Ken Behro of Hollywood, FL; 3 grandchildren; a sister, Donna Ledger of Ludington; 4 brothers, Harold (Ruth) Rose of Chippewa Lake, Jim (Doris) Rose, Gary Rose, Loren (Kathy) Rose all of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends including Linda Kryger of Cascade. Besides her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by a son, Brent Behro. A memorial service will take place 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30th at the Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Leonard Beck officiating.
