BARBARA ELLIOTT GILBERT 81 of Sun City Arizona and formerly of Big Rapids passed away December 12, 2013. Barbara graduated from Ferris State University. She married Max J. Gilbert August 1, 1952. They resided in Big Rapids and raised their children. After Max's retirement in 1984 Max and Barbara moved to Sun City Arizona where Barbara volunteered at Walter O'Boswell Hospital. She is survived by her children Bruce (Katrina) Gilbert of Wallend TN, George (RuthAnne) and Thomas (Dawn) Gilbert of Big Rapids MI, Brian (Luz) Gilbert of Peoria AZ and daughter Rosemary (Bruce) Ray of Gold Canyon, AZ. Grandchildren Jeromy (Melissa) Larock, Tammy (Doug) VanHouten, Max (Amy) Coleman, Dawn Coleman, Jake, Lindsey, Erika, Corinne, Eric, Zachary, Amber & Max Gilbert, five Great Grandchildren and a sister Sue (Clyde) Genter. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Max Gilbert, daughter Karen Larock, daughter in-law Carmen Gilbert, and parents Gladys (Fairbanks) Elliott and David and Sylvia Elliott. Cremation has taken place, the family will have a private service at a later date. Donations in Barbara's name may be made to a Charity of one's choice.
