Austa Lee King, age 78, passed away on June 5, 2016 at her home, in Traverse City, MI. She was born on March 18, 1938 in Weidman, MI to Howard and Neva (Fender) Metcalf. Neva graduated from Weidman High School in 1956 and married Clarence E. King Jr. on April 21, 1956. They raised their family in Mt. Pleasant. Austa is survived by five children; Edwin Lee King, Maple City, Elaine (Gary) McBride of Shephard, Bradley (Chrystal Keeling) King of Mancelona, Bethany King of Mt. Pleasant, Rodney King of Traverse City; 12 grandchildren, 8 greatgrandchildren; extended family and friends. Austa was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Wilma Jean Teeter and Vickie Bauer. Austa retired from Lear Corp. where she was employed for over 25 years. She was a foster grandparent and Senior Companion at The Pavillions both in Traverse City. A graveside service took place at Coral Cemetery, where she was laid to rest by her parents.
