Arthur V. Mueller, age 89 of Hersey, formerly of Detroit, passed away November 22, 2009. He was born December 31, 1919 in Detroit the son of John and Rose (Berlick) Mueller. Arthur was honorably discharged from the United States Army Air corps, serving during World War II in the European Theater where he was awarded 6 bronze stars and the Purple Heart. Arthur made his home in Detroit for many years and was retired from T.R.W. Incorporated in Sterling Heights. He has made his home in Hersey for over 20 years. Arthur was currently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Evart and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, Monsignor Grupa Counsel in Detroit. He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Dolores; loving father of Patricia (Ray) Czarnik of Romeo, Pamela (Jim) Jambriska of Rochester Hills, Ken Mueller of Evart; adoring grandfather of 5 and great-grandfather of 10. Besides his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Henry "Harry" Mueller and John Mueller and 2 sisters, Dorothy Wronikowski and Virginia Theis. The family will greet friends today (Tuesday) at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Evart with Father Joe Fix officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery near Reed City. In lieu of flowers, Mass offerings may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Evart in Arthur's memory.
